Melissa Anderson, MA, LMHC (she/her)
Telehealth Therapist
Melissa Anderson is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level II (CCTP-II) who provides individual therapy to teenagers (15+) and adults. Her main areas of clinical interest include: trauma, anxiety, personality disorders, relational issues, self-esteem issues, and stress management. Melissa also enjoys working with college students who may be struggling with adjusting to this unique life chapter and managing the stress of exploring their future academic/career goals.
Taking the step to meet with a therapist can be overwhelming so Melissa believes one of the most important parts of therapy is building a strong therapeutic relationship where you feel comfortable being yourself. Melissa strives to create a therapeutic relationship based on trust, compassion, authenticity, humor, and respect. She believes these qualities provide a safe space where you can gain insight into yourself so you two can collaborate to address core issues and create the change you wish to see in your life. Her ultimate goal is for you to get what you need from your sessions and have a space where you can be authentic in your emotions. In addition to creating a positive therapeutic relationship, Melissa integrates techniques from various frameworks including: cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectal behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, feminist therapy, and client-centered therapy.
In her free time, Melissa enjoys spending time with loved ones (including her two dogs), reading, and playing golf.
