Dr. Courtney Benefiel is a licensed clinical psychologist who provides assessment and therapy services to adults. Her training has provided her with opportunities to work with clients from diverse backgrounds and has fostered her interest in working with underserved populations. Her clinical interests include relationship concerns, trauma, attachment, depression, and anxiety.
Dr. Benefiel is trained to conduct evaluations for ADHD, ASD, OCD, learning disorders, personality concerns, and bariatric surgery, as well as general diagnostic clarification. By integrating multiple sources of data, her aim is to provide testing clients with a thorough understanding of the issues they are experiencing, along with a guide for helpful next steps.
Dr. Benefiel has adopted an interpersonal process approach to therapy. This is a genuine, empathic, and collaborative modality of treatment that explores how clients' past relationships and experiences may be influencing current patterns of behavior. It meets clients where they are and can be tailored to fit their specific needs. Dr. Benefiel values establishing longer-term working relationships and creating a safe and comfortable therapeutic atmosphere.
In her free time, Courtney enjoys reading, traveling, doing puzzles, listening to podcasts, and spending time with her dog, Blanche.
